Tour Itinerary

From Glasgow, the tour travels north before making a coffee stop on the shores of Loch Lomond. Travelling the length of the loch, you'll travel up into the Highlands, over the unique desolate landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount to the majestic Glencoe, one of Scotland's best-loved glens, made famous for the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan.

There's a stop in the Fort William area for lunch (price not included) and afterwards the tour continues into the natural beauty of the Great Glen. You'll pass beneath Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Travelling on, you'll enjoy views of the Caledonian Canal, pass the pretty village of Fort Augustus, and enjoy spectacular views of Loch Ness during the drive along the 24-mile shoreline to Urquhart Castle.

Loch Ness is over 700 feet deep but is, of course, better known for its sightings of the Loch Ness monster, affectionately called "Nessie." Spend approximately two hours at Loch Ness, where optional excursions at additional cost include a wonderful 5 Star sightseeing cruise or exploring the ruins of Urquhart Castle.

At Inverness, capital of the Highlands, the return for home begins, crossing the Grampian mountains and the woodland scenery of Perthshire, including the Forest of Atholl, with an evening stop at the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry en route to Glasgow.

What should I bring on the tour?
-We recommend you bring warm and/or waterproof clothing for the changeable Scottish weather, and because you will have the opportunities for walks during stops. You should wear comfortable shoes for walking, take a sunblock and/or a hat for sunny days, and don't forget your camera!

What about food and drink?
-You can take cold food and drink on the coach if you wish, but you will have stops for eating and drinking. Your driver will inform you of the options on the tour.

Do you have a minimum number of passengers for each tour?
-The minimum number of passengers necessary for a tour to operate is 6. Any loss or inconvenience caused by illness, climactic conditions or road and/or traffic conditions is your responsibility alone.

How long are the tours? How many stops are there?
-The goal is to ensure that you have as much time off the coach as possible in order to enjoy Scotland and its magnificent scenery, with plenty of options for walks, sightseeing and visits to local attractions and significant monuments. The tour is planned so that you are never on the coach for longer than 2 hours on any journey. This is our longest day tour because it is the furthest distance traveled in one day (approximately 360 miles round-trip); but, on this tour you can enjoy 4 extended stops for visits, optional castle and cruise visit and meals (including around 2 hours at Loch Ness) and shorter stops for photos.
